Corny, Cheesey but oh so necessary

So this morning I am overwhelmed with glee, and since the title already warns you i will be as CHEESY as possible.

Yesterday was CANADA DAY (kinda like your 4th of July and as everyone hopefully has already figured out .... I am CANADIAN). Other than the pancakes decked(ha) out with chocolate chip maple leaves(thanks) and the double sided laminated Canadian flag (again thanks!) I was personally delivered the most amazing gift anyone could give me(stick with the story I promise I make sense most of the time).

I had invited a few friends over to drink a little Canadian Club and throw around the word eh?. Patriotically of me I had already spent 4 hours at happy hour before people even came over. By the time the 3 bottles of CC were finished, people wanted to go to the bar and I was hot Canadian mess.

One of the invitees was a friend of mine who went to high school with me but haven't seen since my junior year. I found out that she's been living in Philly for the summer and coincidently happens to love Canada and me. Bravely she showed up, roommate in hand, and blended in with my friends fantastically. So when I was too intoxicated to show my face in public I was quick to usher her out the door and to the bar with my friends to keep the party going. (HELL it's CANADA DAY .. why not drink your face off????)

long story short, HS friend comes to C.D. party, I'm too drunk to function, I make HS friend go to bar with my friends and this is what I woke up to this morning:

Text Message @ 3:36 A.M.
High School Friend: "U have amazing friends. I had a really fun nite"

what a gift? It couldn't have meant more to me even if she had said "U are amazing". I'm lucky enough to acknowledge how amazing(amazing amazing amazing ... just thought I'd get a couple more in since i just realized I've used that word 18 times) the people I surround myself are but for someone to meet them for the first time and immediately pick up on the fabulosity of my friends makes me feel like I've done very well for myself. Sorry I had to cheeseball it up but if there's one thing I care about more than family and my country ... its friends.
